let's get lost and stuffed in Seoul

Shall we celebrate the shift toward peace in Korea by stoking dreams of Seoul? I have only one week's experience with that great city, but here's where I'd take you if we went back together.

Poking around the labyrinthian streets of traditional Korean homes in Bukchon Hanok Village.

Refreshing ourselves with sesame smoothies high on a hill at Cafe Travel after taking in the shops and murals in Ihwa Mural Village.

Digging into soft rice cakes in thick hot chili sauce and Korean shaved ice topped with bananas, cherry tomatoes, and peanuts at Miss Lee's cafe, where we'll take in the breeze at a wide open window on the second floor and watch the world go by down below on Insadong's pedestrian thoroughfare.

Mixing with the crowds along that thoroughfare as evening settles in, and waiting in a long long line for fresh hot hotteok, filled with molten brown sugar and sesame seeds, and it will be worth the wait. In fact, it will be worth the plane ride.

Exploring Gwangjang Market, spanning blocks and blocks. Let's eat handcut noodle soup with, always, a side of kimchi and buy ... do you need live octopus? a mattress? an oil can? It's all here.

We'll remind each other to remove our shoes at temples.

When are you free?
